Wellness and Preventative Care
We subdivide core visits based on your pet’s lifestyle, either homebody or social pet; read below to find out what lifestyle describes your pet!

Cats
Outdoor Cat –  Cats who participate in any of the following activities, even just once a year, qualify as outdoor kitties:

  • Traveling with you
  • Having any outdoor time, even if it is supervised
  • Have pet parents who foster stray kittens or foster kittens with a rescue

Homebody Cat – a homebody cat never goes outside, and only has a friend or petsitter come to the house when you leave town.

Dogs
Social Dog – Most dogs fit in this category. If your dog participates in any of the following activities, even just once a year, they qualify as social:

  • Walks in the neighborhood
  • Visiting dog parks
  • Hiking
  • Swimming
  • Going to a groomer or having grooming at the vet, even just nail trims
  • Going to a boarding facility when you travel
  • Traveling with you
  • Going to doggie daycare
  • Visiting farmers’ markets or other dog-friendly festivals with you
  • Having contact with the neighbor’s dogs, even just through the fence
  • Live in an apartment complex where other pets live
  • Have pet parents who volunteer their time at an animal shelter or rescue

Homebody Dog – A homebody dog rarely goes outside and doesn’t have any neighbors with dogs. They only have a friend or petsitter come to the house when you leave town, and have all their grooming, including nail trims, done at home.

Homebody Annual Visits include:
Dog – Physical Examination, Rabies Vaccine*, DAPP Vaccine*, Lepto Vaccine, Fecal Screening for Intestinal Parasites, and Heartworm/Tick-borne disease testing. Total investment: $211

Cat – Physical Examination, Rabies Vaccine, FVRCP Vaccine*, and Fecal Screening for Intestinal Parasites. Total investment: $155

DID YOU KNOW? If your pet is over 7 years of age, a physical examination is recommended every 6 months, and health screening with simple blood testing is recommended at least once a year, just like your doctor recommends!

*1 or 3-year vaccines are available depending on your pet’s previous vaccination history AND when their current vaccination is due. Overdue vaccines can disqualify your pet from getting a 3-year vaccine. Ask one of our medical team members for more information at your appointment if you’re wondering which is the right fit for your pet!

Have a pet with vaccine reactions? Don’t like over-vaccinating? We don’t either! That’s why we base the recommended vaccines on your pet’s lifestyle AND offer titer testing! Titer Testing is done with a simple blood test, and checks the level of antibodies your pet has to determine if they are still protected, and if we can postpone additional vaccinations! Titer testing is available for our FVRCP vaccine for cats and our DAPP and Lepto vaccine for dogs. Ask one of our medical team members for more information at your appointment if you would like to explore this option for your pet!

Sick Visits

If your pet is not feeling well, we always recommend starting with an exam. Our examination fee is $60. We’re happy to provide you with a detailed estimate for any recommended tests and treatments after taking a close look at your pet’s symptoms. Each estimate is customized to your pet’s needs. Please call to talk with one of our medical team members for more details or to schedule an appointment.

Common Medicines

Patients MUST be established as patients at Pet’s Favorite Vet by having a physical exam with our vets in the last 365 days to receive any medications. We cannot fill prescriptions from other veterinary clinics.

Preventative Pills
At Pet’s Favorite Vet, we carry ProHeart 12, Revolution Plus, Simparica Trio, and Bravecto.

Chronic Medicines
Whether your pet needs Apoquel or Cytopoint for allergies, thyroid medicine, or arthritis relief, we’ve got you covered.

Easy to Administer Medications
If you have a hard time giving medicines to your pet, Pet’s Favorite Vet has you covered. We carry and can drop-ship thousands of custom compounded medications that taste like treats or may simply be rubbed on your pet’s ear.

We work hard to get the best deal for you from our suppliers. Sometimes that will be in our clinic, and sometimes it will be through our online pharmacy. Because the sales and incentives are non-stop, we do not post our prices online. Feel free to shoot us an e-mail, call, or text, to see about the safest and most affordable way to get your pet’s medications.

Surgery

All surgeries are booked over the phone by calling 864-406-9877 or in person. We do require that your pet has had an exam with us in the past year in order to book. If you need to book an exam to do that, you can do so here.

All surgical patients, except routine cat neuters, will receive an IV catheter. An IV catheter gives us direct venous access for fluid support, comfort during induction, and quick access in the unlikely event of an emergency.

All of the procedures listed below are done under general anesthesia which includes all of the following:

  • Pre-Anesthetic Examination by the Veterinarian
  • Custom anesthetic and post op care plan for your pet
  • Preanesthetic comfort care medications to manage pain and anxiety
  • IV Catheter and IV fluid therapy while under anesthesia (except cat neuters)
  • General anesthesia with intubation to protect their airway
  • Anesthetic monitoring by a certified medical team member
  • Postanesthetic recovery monitored by a trained medical team member
  • Cold Laser Therapy to assist with pain, inflammation, and speed healing (if appropriate)
  • Nerve blocks
  • Postanesthetic Comfort Care Medications to take home for your pet for additional pain control

Neuter
Cat: $150
Dog under 75lbs: $320
Dog 75lbs or more: $395
Please note: Additional fees may apply for complex neuters, such as cryptorchid pets.

Spay
Cat: $365
Dog under 75lbs: $400
Dog 75lbs or more: $475
Please note: Additional fees may apply for complex spays, such as if the pet is in heat, is pregnant, or has a uterine infection (pyometra).

Dentals
All of our dental cleanings include full-mouth dental x-rays. Dental x-rays are essential to view the tooth and bone under the gums where we may find problems below the gumline invisible to the naked eye. Those issues are then treated to prevent and eliminate pain. The pricing below includes dental x-rays, an ultrasonic cleaning, and polishing of all teeth, as well as the safety and comfort-focused anesthetic protocol described above.
Cat: $450+
Dog under 75lbs: $450+
Dog 75lbs or more: $525+
Please note: Additional fees may apply for pets with special anesthetic needs or any necessary oral surgery such as dental extractions. It is recommended to make an appointment here 30 days prior to your procedure to get a more precise estimate.

Pre-Anesthetic Labs
Pre-anesthetic labs are highly recommended for pets of all ages. However, any pet over the age of 2 years or with abnormal labs in the last 6 months must have pre-anesthetic lab work performed. This will let us know if we need to change the dose of anesthetic or pain medications to suit their unique needs.
Blood testing completed prior to the day of the procedure: $95
Blood testing performed on the day of the procedure: $140

If your pet is over 7 years of age: We highly recommend considering an expanded senior screening panel, these must be completed prior to the day of your pet’s procedure. Please see our labwork and diagnostics section for more information on our senior panel offerings.

We offer a variety of soft tissue and specialty procedures. If you are interested in any of the procedures below, please contact us or make an appointment for the doctor to assess and create an estimate for your pet. See below for a list of some of the other surgical procedures we offer.
